FAQ'S
> 1. I assume that I would send you the
message, and your company would do
> the actual broadcast. Is the message guaranteed to be delivered
to 10,000
> people? That is, when rejects occur, is the message sent
to additional
> names until 10,000 successful e-mails are sent?
>
> 2. How large is your e-mail database? If it is greater than
10,000, what
> is the charge for additional names above and beyond 10,000?
We
currently have approximately 10,860 emails that are opted into
our list that we use to send out advertising to. This list varies
in size on a daily basis, for example, we may received 100"Opt-ins",
14 "Opt-Outs", 4 change of addresses, and 39 "bad
addresses" each day that will be added/subtracted to our
list tomorrow. It is the nature of e-mail lists to have these
types of fluctuations, people change, add, and loose their e-mail
addresses at a very high rate. We groom the list on a daily basis
to insure the highest quality broadcast to our (your) potential
customers. With our current sales strategies, the list should
stay well over 10,000 e-mails through year 2002. We charge a flat
rate of $ 500.00 per broadcast regardless of e-mails sent, but
will always send out a minimum of 10,000 emails. (but most of
the time, it will be over 10,000.)

> 3. Do you add any text, graphics, etc. to the message, or
is it entirely my >content?
We
use a ASCII text file of your design to broadcast to the people
on our list. I will send you an example of past broadcasts we've
sent out if requested. I include a message of introduction, and
a disclaimer and "opt-out" statement at the end, but
the actual text is what you want. It usually states what your
product and/or promotion is, and has links back to your website
to make your sales.
>
> 4. Do you have any editorial requirements for the message?
>
Our
basic rules are that your product or service must be something
that would be of interest to the Scouting Community, and that
your ad will live up to the Scout Oath and Law. Remember, our
list is compose of ADULT Scout Leaders, not youth, so plan your
advertising strategies accordingly.
>
5. Is the message sent in plain text, or html format?
>
Plain text with links
>
6. Is there a time/date requirement as to when the message is
sent, or is
> it sent whenever I have the message ready?
>
We
only send out our e-mail broadcasts a maximum of twice a week,
and more often only once a week as to not overwhelm our lists
with ads. We seem to get a lot better response and keep people
longer if they feel we are not "abusing them" with too
much advertising. I have very few complaints and I suspect most
of them want to stay on my list to keep receiving our FREE Scouting-E-Zine
( http://www.honorpub.com/sez_archive.htm)
which comes out twice a month. We have lower rates for insertions
in that media as well. This is where the majority of our "opt-ins"
come from.
We
have found that multiple advertising over a period of time is
also beneficial. We offer a discounted rate for multiple broadcasts.
